Abstract:
Nephrotic syndrome is characterized by increased permeability of glomerular filter which leads to proteinuria and consequently to the numerous metabolic, endocrine and immune disorders. Treatment of nephrotic syndrome should be directed to proteinuria and its causes as well as to its complications. As increased permeability of glomerular filter in primary nephrotic syndromes develops due to influence of immune reactions mediators, immunomodulating agents are used in their therapy. Therapeutic index of these agents is low and therefore the agents with antiproteinuric effects and symptomatic therapy are also used in the management of nephrotic syndromes.
