    • Choroidal melanomas can present with varied ocular symptoms.

    Observation:

    • A patient presented with symptoms suggestive of both choroidal melanoma and a horseshoe retinal tear.
    • Clinical examination identified a choroidal melanoma as the primary ocular issue.

    Findings:

    • The presence of choroidal melanoma was accurately diagnosed.
    • Enucleation (eye removal) was performed as the appropriate treatment for the tumor.

    Implications:

    • Early and accurate diagnosis of choroidal melanoma is crucial.
    • Distinguishing between tumor-related symptoms and other ocular conditions prevents misdiagnosis and inappropriate treatment.
    • Avoidance of unnecessary retinal detachment surgery preserves ocular integrity.
