[The effect of thermotherapy on prostatic function based on ultrasonic study data]

Ultrasonic transrectal triplex investigation of the prostate with assessment of its echo structure and vascularization, hemodynamics in the vessels has been performed in 68 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The examination was conducted before transurethral microwave therapy (TMT) and 2 weeks, 1, 3 and 6 months after it. 2 weeks after TMT ultrasonic picture of the prostate exhibited foci of BPH destruction, inflammatory edema of the peripheral tissues. Later, fibrotization of the prostate occurred. Reduced circulation in the prostate developed by the end of the 6th month.
