[Paraneoplastic neurological syndrome: diagnosis and therapy]

Neurological symptoms often preceded diagnosis of malignancy. Anti-cancer therapy and immunological treatments are relatively effective for Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome, but often disappointing for subacute cerebellar degeneration or sensory neuropathy. Examination of anti-neuronal antibodies, which are characteristic of some clinical type of this syndrome, is very important for early diagnosis of the malignancy and treatment for neurological symptoms.
