Summary

Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) and alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH) may counteract opiate effects. Melanocortin receptor activation, particularly MC4-R, shows potential in opposing opiate-induced behaviors and addiction.
