    Summary

    Tocainide effectively suppresses ventricular ectopic depolarizations (VEDs) in many patients. A loading-maintenance regimen demonstrated significant arrhythmia reduction, suggesting potential for continuous VED control.

    Background:

    • Previous studies showed tocainide's efficacy in suppressing ventricular ectopic depolarizations (VEDs) after single doses.
    • This study aimed to evaluate tocainide's antiarrhythmic potential using a multiple-dose regimen.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To assess the efficacy and safety of a loading-maintenance regimen of tocainide for suppressing VEDs.
