Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the in vitro tensile bonding strength of the compomer Dyract Ortho with various bracket types.
  • To compare the bonding performance of Dyract Ortho with a conventional composite (Concise).

Main Methods:

  • In vitro study using 360 bovine incisors divided into 12 test groups.
  • Tested Dyract Ortho with two primers (Prime & Bond 2.0, PSA) and three bracket types (metal, ceramic, silan ceramic).
  • Enamel etching with 36% phosphoric acid was performed on 50% of teeth; Concise composite served as a control.

  • Further clinical data are needed before recommending compomers for routine clinical bracket bonding.
