Methods and reagents is a unique monthly column that highlights current discussions in the newsgroup bionet.molbio.methds-reagnts, available on the Internet. In this, the closing article for the Methods and reagents monthly column, I discuss how the methods group has evolved since the onset of this experimental monthly column, and try to relate its past and present condition to future improvements.
