Abstract:
Anaplasma marginale-infected erythrocytes retained viability and infectivity for at least 3 days after ingestion by Hippelates pusio Loew and up to 2 days after ingestion by species of Tabanidae. The organism does not appear to have a developmental sequence in the insect vector.
