[Psychoses (schizophrenias)]

We are speaking with E. Bleuler about the "group of schizophrenic disorders". We describe the different symptoms, varieties of life-long courses and possible predictors of outcome. Currently, patients with schizophrenic disorders are frequently treated in Switzerland as outpatients by primary care physicians. The vulnerability models allows the recognition of different pathogenetic factors and also the integration of various treatment modalities, like pharmacotherapy treatment, family treatment and psychotherapy.
