    • TEA-Coco hydrolyzed protein is the triethanolamine salt of the condensation product of coconut fatty acids with collagen-derived polypeptides and amino acids.
    • The patient did not react to other ingredients in the cleanser.
    • Further testing indicated sensitivity to other fatty acid and protein hydrolysate condensates.

    Implications:

    • TEA-Coco hydrolyzed protein can act as a contact allergen.
    • Cosmetic formulations containing protein hydrolysates may pose a risk for susceptible individuals.
    • Dermatologists should consider these ingredients when diagnosing facial dermatitis.
