Summary

Diagnosing megaloblastic anemias from cobalamin or folate deficiency is challenging. Methylmalonic acid (MMA) and formiminoglutamic acid (FIGLU) tests offer a cost-effective, highly specific alternative to expensive vitamin level testing.
