Objective:
To describe a case of vasitis nodosum causing spontaneous recanalization of the vas deferens.
Methods:
Herein we describe a patient who had undergone vasectomy 9 years earlier. A nodule in the vas deferens arising from granulomatous reaction had progressed to vasitis nodosum, causing spontaneous recanalization of the vas deferens.
Results:
Vasitis nodosum may be more frequent than it is considered to be although clinical problems rarely arise.
Conclusion:
Confusion may arise in distinguishing the histological features of vasitis nodosum from those of adenocarcinomatous neoplasia. Although rarely, its growth may cause recanalization of the vas deferens in vasectomized patients.
