[Methods of research on group therapy]

In the field of what is known as group talk therapy it is rather difficult, but absolutely necessary to do more than merely discuss various concepts and make occasional observations. The possible methods described include the "pre" and "post" systems of principles, practices, and procedures; the reference group method; the method of investigating process variables; and the analog experimental method. Examples are given for each of the above methods. It is evident from a number of theoretical designs that major achievements will finally come from a suitable combination of different methods of research.
