    Summary

    Cartilaginous tumors rarely present as superficial skin lesions. Despite concerning nuclear changes, these tumors often behave benignly and can be managed conservatively.

    Background:

    • Cartilage tumors are uncommon in dermatologic literature.
    • Superficial presentation of cartilaginous tumors is rare.

    Observation:

    • Two patients presented with solitary nodular skin lesions.
    • Histologic examination revealed cartilaginous tumors.

    Findings:

    • Nuclear atypia suggestive of malignancy was frequently observed.
    • Despite atypical features, the majority of tumors exhibited benign behavior.

    Implications:

    • Superficial cartilaginous tumors may be misdiagnosed.
    • Conservative treatment is often effective for these lesions.
    • Further research is needed to understand their behavior.
