Abstract:
In a patient with progressive considerable decrease of intraocular pressure disinsertion of the ciliary muscle from its attachment at the scleral spur was found. Because of aggravating symptoms of ocular hypotony and no improved response to conservative treatment cryotherapy was applied four weeks after the occurrence of trauma above the site of the disinsertion of the ciliary muscle. This method proved to be effective, leading to reattachment of the detached ciliary muscle and subsidence of symptoms of decreased intraocular pressure.
