[Value of clinical research in Germany in an international comparison]
1Klinik für Allgemeinchirurgie, Philipps-Universität, Marburg.
Abstract:
Clinical research in Germany, compared with other countries, is not well off. There is enough evidence showing that German speakers in international conferences are underrepresented as well as German authors in international (English-speaking) journals. There are a multitude of reasons why this is so. The main problem is an overwhelming clinical workload in university hospitals, which does not allow enough time to be saved for research. There is obviously no lack of money for research and development.
