[Trocar complications and technical aspects for prevention in laparoscopic hernia operation (TAPP and TPP)]

Abstract:
By comparing trocar-related complications in laparoscopic hernia repair in two series, we can demonstrate a lower rate of complications if blunt trocars were used. In 238 procedures using cutting trocars, we registered 2 major complications and 9% of local hematoma.
Insights
Using blunt trocars in laparoscopic hernia repair significantly reduces complications. This study found fewer issues compared to traditional cutting trocars, enhancing patient safety during surgical procedures.
