Abstract:
The thermokeratoplasty was developed by Gasset for treatment of keratoconus. The flattening of the cornea is induced by heat. Indications and contra-indications are discussed. This is a report on our first 10 cases which were treated with a modified Passow-cauter. The procedure is simple and harmless and it seems to restrict the range of indications for corneal transplantation.
