Area of Science:

  • Oncology
  • Radiology
  • Pathology

Background:

  • Splenic metastasis from carcinomas is uncommon.
  • Testicular germ cell tumors (TGCTs) can metastasize to various organs.

Observation:

  • A 28-year-old male patient presented with a confirmed diagnosis of testicular germ cell tumor.
  • Radiological imaging revealed metastasis to the spleen.

Findings:

  • The splenic metastasis demonstrated a positive response to chemotherapy.
  • The patient achieved complete remission and remained disease-free for one year post-treatment.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the importance of considering rare metastatic sites in TGCT management.
  • Chemotherapy can be effective in treating splenic metastases from testicular germ cell tumors.
