Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of amplitude Doppler imaging data.
  • To quantitatively assess carotid artery bifurcation stenoses using this novel imaging technique.

  • Stored amplitude (power) Doppler image frames were used to create 3D reconstructions of the carotid lumen.
  • Quantitative ultrasound caliper measurements of stenotic and normal vessel caliber were performed on the 3D images.
