Summary

Minimally invasive coronary artery surgery (MICS) offers a safe and effective approach for treating single-vessel coronary artery disease without cardiopulmonary bypass. This study demonstrates favorable outcomes with MICS, including shorter hospital stays and low complication rates.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the safety and efficacy of MICS for myocardial revascularization in patients with single-vessel coronary artery disease.
  • To assess outcomes including complication rates, hospital stay, and procedure times.

  • A retrospective review of 19 patients undergoing MICS between January 1996 and August 1997.
  • Procedures included left anterior small thoracotomy (LAST) and median sternotomy approaches.
