Abstract:
Bisnetropsin-linked hydroxamic acids (BNHA) were shown to cleave DNA stands at a single residue with a preferred binding orientation in the presence of ferrous ion. In contrast, the corresponding cerium (III) complexes cleaved DNA with low sequence specificity.
