Summary

Human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection in Ugandan children impairs delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) skin testing responses to purified protein derivative (PPD) but not Candida. Chloroquine treatment may affect Candida responses in HIV-1-infected children.
