Abstract:
One of the goals of the University of Illinois Hospital and Clinic's Pharmacy and Therapeutic Agent Review Program is to monitor and evaluate prescribing practices for drugs used in their facilities and to comply with Joint Commission standards with regard to conducting drug usage evaluations (DUE). Presented below is an overview of each step taken in the DUE process at the University of Illinois. The process described here can be adopted by other institutions that wish to improve their own DUE program.
