Summary

Researchers discovered two new primate T-lymphotropic viruses (PTLVs) in baboons and bonobos, expanding our understanding of PTLV evolution and interspecies transmission. These novel viruses, STLV-PH969 and STLV-PP1664, are genetically distinct from known human T-lymphotropic virus (HTLV) types.
