This article describes several components of the Internet that are being used for conveying information of use to the clinical laboratorian. These include mailing lists, newsgroups, the World Wide Web, and chat rooms. The Internet has provided the means to realize the dream of a worldwide professional knowledge base that can be shared among all laboratorians.
