Keeping the care in patient care in the laboratory

Keeping the care in patient care is an important behavior for technologists in the laboratory. This paper has considered the construct of caring and has outlined strategies for communicating caring to the patient who is interacting with the laboratory technologist. Problems with overinvolvement have also been identified. A laboratory technologist needs to balance caring with appropriate feelings of detachment.
