Background:

  • Multiple eccrine hidrocystomas are a rare facial dermatosis.
  • No recent large case series have been reported for this condition.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To describe the clinicopathologic features of five multiple eccrine hidrocystoma cases.
  • To highlight the shared characteristics among these cases.

Main Methods:

  • Clinical and histologic examination of five female patients with multiple eccrine hidrocystomas.
  • Histopathologic analysis revealed unilocular dermal cysts lined by cuboidal cells.
  • S-100 protein staining was negative in all cyst walls.

Main Results:

  • All patients were middle-aged women presenting with numerous, asymptomatic, skin-colored to bluish papulonodular lesions (2-5 mm).

  • Topical 1% atropine treatment showed no significant improvement in one case, with no observed systemic side-effects.
