Abstract:
Ureteral injury from blunt abdominal trauma is very uncommon and is reported most often in children. We report a case mid-ureteral transection following blunt abdominal trauma that resulted in nephrectomy. There was also an associated aortic dissection. The pathophysiology, epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of blunt ureteral injury are also discussed.
