[Video-EEG monitoring in neonates: indications]

In neonates with paroxysmal events, video-EEG monitoring proves to be a powerful tool for diagnosis. It allows differentiation of epileptic seizures from other paroxysmal phenomena; a more precise analysis of clinical semiology of seizures; it may help in the localization of a seizure focus; it provides more comprehensive data for the evaluation of the interictal state.
