Development of human resources in nursing: a collaborative initiative in CPR

Background:

• A collaborative project between Jordanian and Canadian University nursing faculty aimed to improve staff development for practicing nurses in Jordan.

Purpose of the Study:

• To enhance the knowledge and performance of practicing nurses in Jordan regarding emergency situations, specifically through cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training.
• To establish a sustainable model for staff development in nursing within Jordanian healthcare institutions.

• Implementation of a "train-the-trainer" model for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) workshops.
• Workshops were conducted in three government and one military hospital in Jordan.
• University faculty initially led the workshops, preparing local trainers to deliver the program independently.

• Local trainers are now independently conducting CPR workshops on an ongoing basis within their respective institutions.
• Demand for CPR workshops has expanded, with 10 hospitals and one health center requesting the training for their nursing staff.
