Abstract:
Centers performing urodynamic testing in North America were surveyed to identify both who was performing urodynamics and what techniques were employed during specific tests. Urodynamic laboratories tend to have one or more dedicated urodynamic units, capable of measuring multiple pressures, uroflowmetry, and sphincter electromyography. Testing is typically completed by a nurse, physician, physician's assistant, or technically skilled clinician with extensive clinical experience. However, few of these clinicians report formalized education in focusing specifically on urodynamic testing techniques.
