Summary

Isolated congenital pseudarthrosis of the fibula is rare. Early distal tibiofibular fusion is recommended to prevent valgus ankle deformity in affected children.

  • This study presents three pediatric cases of ICPF managed at a single institution.
  • Presentations varied, including early varus and later valgus ankle deformities.
  • Treatment strategies ranged from conservative management to surgical intervention.

Findings:

  • Two patients were managed conservatively, while one underwent distal tibiofibular fusion for severe valgus deformity.
  • All three patients demonstrated positive early outcomes within 1-2 years post-treatment.
