[Paraaortic lymphadenectomy in gynecological tumors]

The purpose of this Study was to determine role of para-aortic lymphadenectomy in patients with gynecologic malignancies. In review literature the authors reports was to show role of paraaortic lymphadenectomy in surgical staging and the most important role in treatment plan. The results confirm the diagnostic and prognostic value of paraaortic lymphadenectomy in patients with endometrial carcinoma, cervical cancer and ovarian cancer and adjuvant treatment after primary surgical procedure. The authors affirm that lymph nodes metastases represent the most reliable markers of high risk patients. The position about therapeutic role of paraaortic lymphadenectomy remains controversial.
