Abstract:
The Decade of the Brain is now over, but the most important discoveries are still to come. Given that in the United States and elsewhere in the world the population is aging, the impact of high-quality brain research over the next 2 decades could be tremendous. It is important to improve stroke prevention and acute stroke treatment and also to find the means to eliminate stroke-related disability for those who live each day with motor and other neurologic impairments.
