Background:

School violence is a significant concern impacting the learning environment.
Understanding teacher perceptions is crucial for developing effective prevention strategies.

Purpose of the Study:

To identify factors contributing to school violence as perceived by teachers.
To inform interventions aimed at reducing school violence.

Main Methods:

Open-ended survey questions administered to teachers (n=396) during an in-service program.
Content analysis used to extract and categorize themes from teacher responses (n=239).

Main Results:

Thirteen themes were identified, categorized into three main areas: lack of knowledge, lack of support, and inadequate safety measures.
