Summary

Orbital metastasis from liposarcoma is rare. This case highlights the importance of suspecting metastatic liposarcoma in patients presenting with proptosis and a history of this retroperitoneal tumor.

  • Histological analysis revealed the orbital tumor was consistent with the primary retroperitoneal liposarcoma.
  • The patient experienced vision loss despite prednisolone, radio-, and chemotherapy.

Implications:

  • Orbital liposarcoma metastasis should be considered in patients with proptosis and a known liposarcoma history.
  • Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for managing this rare condition.
  • This case underscores the aggressive nature of metastatic liposarcoma.
