Abstract:
A small amount of fluid is usually present in the space between the posterior surface of the silicone oil bubble and the retinal surface in silicone oil-filled eyes. A new technique is described for sampling this fluid using a 27-gauge cannula mounted on an empty tuberculin syringe that is connected to a 10-mL syringe through tubing.
