Summary

Chronic rapid heart rhythms (tachyarrhythmia) can cause heart muscle changes and failure symptoms. These changes are reversible, improving heart function after restoring normal sinus rhythm.

Background:

  • The observed changes were reassessed as characteristic of reversible arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy.
  • Restoration of sinus rhythm led to regression of tachyarrhythmia-induced cardiac changes.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the importance of considering and treating underlying arrhythmias in patients with suspected cardiomyopathy.
  • Early rhythm control can potentially reverse cardiac dysfunction and remodeling, preventing progression to end-stage heart failure.
  • Accurate diagnosis of reversible arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy can guide appropriate therapeutic strategies and improve patient outcomes.
