1Clínica Psiquiátrica Universitaria, Facultad de Medicina, Universidad de Chile, Santiago de Chile.
Abstract:
The present study was done to test the validity of the clinical examination for drug addiction at the National Forensic Medicine Service of Santiago. The responses to a questionnaire for marihuana consumption and a laboratory test for cannabinole in urine were correlated. The proportion of false negatives was 36.5%. Thus, clinical evaluation for drug addiction has limitations that prevent their use in the legal and penal context.
