Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis in HIV+ individuals revealed frequent abnormalities that may mimic infections. These changes, particularly oligoclonal bands and altered albumin/IgG ratios, correlate with CD4+ counts but not necessarily with neurological disease.
