Context:

Partial nephrectomy is a standard procedure for renal tumors and some kidney stones.
Minimally invasive techniques are continually being explored to improve patient outcomes.
Microwave tissue coagulation offers a method for precise tissue ablation and hemostasis.

Purpose:

To evaluate the indications and safety of non-ischemic partial nephrectomy using a microwave tissue coagulator.
To assess the efficacy of this technique in managing renal tumors and complicated kidney stones.

Summary:

Non-ischemic partial nephrectomy was performed on 17 kidneys using a microwave tissue coagulator for renal tumors (n=11) and stones (n=5).
Tumor excision involved localized microwave coagulation followed by sharp dissection.
Postoperative complications included urine leakage in two patients, which resolved spontaneously. One patient experienced renal parenchyma atrophy.
