[Past and present perspectives of Turner Syndrome]

Abstract:
Herein current aspects of the Turner Syndrome are described. Clinically, it is emphasized the importance of phenotipically normal cases that pose difficult diagnosis problems. On the other side, in addition to the classical clinical criteria, early diagnosis is possible through prenatal sonography. However, many times the diagnosis is made late in excess. Therapeutically, together with former intervention strategies, "in vitro" fertilization is feasible today and has been successfully achieved, as well as GH therapy; in the presented series final height improved 6 cms over expected height, and in the foreseeable future, with increasing knowledge advances further benefits can be anticipated.
