Obtaining a complete and pertinent patient history
Abstract:
Nurses and technicians who obtain ophthalmic patient histories should persist in maintaining and improving their history-taking skills. A knowledgeable and personable approach to the ophthalmic patient can produce a pertinent and concise, yet thorough, history. The importance of this information in guiding the ophthalmologist's diagnosis and treatment and in planning appropriate nursing care cannot be overestimated.
