Abstract
Background:
Genetic amniocentesis is considered a safe procedure with a low incidence of complications including infection.
Case Report:
A case of genetic amniocentesis followed by Escherichia coli sepsis is presented.
Conclusion:
Intra-amniotic infection after genetic amniocentesis should be treated aggressively with antibiotics and uterine evacuation.
