Area of Science:

  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Traumatology
  • Emergency Medicine

Background:

  • Traumatic hip dislocation is a severe injury often resulting from high-energy trauma.
  • Anterior hip dislocation is less common than posterior dislocation, presenting unique challenges in reduction and management.

Observation:

  • A 33-year-old male trader sustained bilateral anterior hip dislocations in a road traffic accident.
  • The patient underwent successful closed reduction of both hips under general anesthesia.

Findings:

  • Post-reduction management included immobilization with skin traction for both affected hips.
  • The patient's adherence to medical advice was compromised as he self-discharged one week post-injury.

Implications:

Related Experiment Videos
