[The place of vascular pathology among suicide risk factors]
Insights
Vascular pathology is linked to suicide risk factors in completed suicides. This study proposes a medicosocial security system for elderly patients to prevent suicides.
Area of Science:
- Cardiovascular research
- Gerontology
- Public health
Context:
- Vascular pathology is a significant concern in elderly populations.
- Understanding suicide risk factors is crucial for public health interventions.
- Completed suicides present a complex interplay of biological and social factors.
Purpose:
- To investigate the structure and intensity of vascular pathology in individuals who completed suicide.
- To establish the relationship between vascular pathology and other suicide risk factors.
- To determine the correlation of vascular pathology across different organs and its role in suicide.
Summary:
- The study analyzed vascular pathology in completed suicides, identifying its structure and intensity.
- A correlation was found between vascular pathology and other established suicide risk factors.
- Vascular pathology in various organs was correlated, highlighting its role as a significant suicide risk factor.
Impact:
- The findings inform the development of targeted suicide prevention strategies.
- A proposed medicosocial security system aims to enhance support for elderly patients at risk.
- This research contributes to a better understanding of the biological underpinnings of suicide.
Abstract:
A study was made of the structure and intensity of vascular pathology in persons with completed suicides. The relation of that pathology to other risk factors was established as was the correlation between vascular pathology in different organs together with its role as a risk factor of suicides. Based on the data obtained, the system of medicosocial security of elderly patients is proposed in order to prevent suicides.
