Background:

Student learning is influenced by individual preferences in information reception.
The Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, Kinesthetic (VARK) questionnaire is a tool to identify these preferences.

Purpose of the Study:

To assess the learning preferences of first-year medical students using the VARK questionnaire.
To determine the prevalence of single versus multimodal learning preferences in this cohort.

The VARK questionnaire was administered to 250 first-year medical students.
166 students (66%) completed and returned the questionnaire.
