Objective:
To observe the levels of KAI1/CD82 in carcinoma of larynx and the relationship between it and their clinicopathological features,in association with the results of metastasis.
Method:
The expressions of KAI1/CD82 in 61 patients with carcinoma of larynx were detected by immunohistochemistry. The samples of tissue cutting from the edge of carcinoma of larynx (control group) were also studied, and the results were compared.
Result:
The expression of KAI1/CD82 protein in carcinoma of larynx was lower than that in control group (P < 0.05). Statistic difference about the expression of KAI1/CD82 between primary lesions and metastatic lesions was found (P < 0.05); The expression of KAI1/CD82 were closely correlated with lymph node metastasis (P < 0.05), but their expressions were not correlated with age, clinical staging, pathological differentiation (P > 0.05).
Conclusion:
KAI1/CD82 may play an important regulating role in metastasis of carcinoma of larynx, and they may be used as potential markers for tumor metastasis.
